Capital Repairs, Greenmount College

The capital on the column was most likely damaged during the initial construction process.  A ferrous dowel was used to keep the stone in one piece but the dowel rusted and eventually resulted in the stone cracking.  A new section of capital was carved to match the original profile and was attached using stainless steel dowels and stone glue.
